Winter Walk

Sandy, James, Pierre and I took a nice long walk in the crisp winter air yesterday in the woods by our house. James slept, but Pierre absolutely loved exploring. Tomorrow James and I are off to Baltimore for Thanksgiving and we are really looking forward to spending that time with our family!

Cousins

Today, Coco, Aunt Mary Jo, Aunt Gussy, Jan and cousin Andrew came for lunch. It was so much fun to be with so many great gals and to get the boys together. Andrew is so cute and has become so much more awake and animated in just the last week. The boys don't seem to know each other yet, but we know soon they will be great friends.

Here's Andrew...
I love this one, it looks like James just told Andrew a dirty joke...

A (very bad) photo of our first walk with the boys.

Happy Two Month Birthday, James!

Happy birthday James! In just two months you have become the love of our lives!

James is really growing, changing and becoming more adorable each day. He's smiling and making lots of interesting noises, and drooling, a lot.

Hey hey its my birthday!

Why would my Mom make me wear this huge sweater?

More Fun

On Sunday, Chuck, Heather, Charlotte and Amelia (Pierre's aunt) came by for a visit. It was so much fun to see them all and to watch Charlotte in action. She is adorable and a great crawler and even went up her first step at our house! And Pierre was thrilled to see Amelia, they played in the leaves, snorted together and then took tons of naps!

Charlotte is so good at posing! James could learn a few things.

Two dogs. Note the family resemblance.

Great weekend!

On Friday, our friends, Aaron and Suzanne and their adorable pug, Marley came for a visit. Pierre was in heaven, finally another dog to share his evening with! It was great catching up with Aaron and Suzanne and James was a great little guy, despite his teething challenges.

Laura, Suzanne and James.
And on Saturday, we caught up with Jen & Greg at Chef Geoff's with their adorable three-week-old, Elle. She was absolutely perfect, didn't even wake up once. I of course forgot my camera, but it was fun all the same!

Teeth!

Baby James has been a bit fussy lately, so we went for a visit to the doctor. To our surprise we found out that James is getting his bottom teeth - which is causing him a little bit of pain - and a lot of drool! We're all for hitting those milestones early, but it would have been nice to choose one that wasn't painful.

Morris Mania

On Thursday, Coco, Dave, John, Jan and Andrew all gathered at our house for dinner. It was so much fun to have everyone together and a little bit crazy - my hat is off to those of you with twins. Two tiny babies so close in age make a lot of noise!

So Big!

James is growing up so fast! Yesterday he grabbed hold of his rattle and was shaking it all around. This may have been an accident, but we prefer to think of it as genius. Here are a few photos of the rattle action as well as a video of his new sounds.

Saturday Afternoon

A glimpse at the three Gentles men enjoying a nap on Satuday afternoon - they love spending time together!

Friends

Until now Pierre has not been James' greatest fan. He seems a bit interested, but not really and he can't stand the crying. But today, Pierre and James seemed to bond as they both played on the floor. It was a really cute moment, complete with Pierre giving James some kisses.

4 AM

James has been doing pretty well with the sleeping, but last night he sprung awake at 4 am and was ready to party!

Great Grandma

James is lucky enough to have four GREAT grandparents. This weekend he got to spend time with two of them, great grandma Winnie and great grandpa Opa. Mom only had her camera with her for one of these meetings, but both were very special! Grandma Winnie was particularly nice because James is her first great grandchild. She really enjoyed seeing him and holding him and it brought back memories of when grandpa D was a baby. It was a lot of fun!

James had another milestone this weekend, he spent the night in Baltimore. It went pretty well - he loves spending time with his grandparents - I think the feeling is mutual. Here he is relaxing with grandpa D while Coco and I got our hair cut. James got a little hair trim too!

Election Day

James attended his first election today. He was very popular at the polling place. We waited about 45 minutes, so everyone in the line had a chance to check him out. We felt so proud o voting, everyone was telling us how dedicated we were. James is napping now so he can stay up all night to watch the results.

Hey people - be sure to vote - this is an exciting year!

More Halloween

I just loved that costume - I have to get one more post out of it!
